1 large onion, peeled and chopped


About half green pepper, seeded and coarsely chopped


About half of Cup red bell pepper, seeded and coarsely chopped


2 Pounds lean beef


1 Teaspoon salt


1 / 8 Teaspoon white pepper


Half cup of cracker meal (I have Matzoh meal)


1 Egg beaten


1/3 Cup beef broth


Sauce (recipe follows)


Place cleaned and chopped onion and pepper in a blender or food processor, and pulse until finely chopped.


Mix beef with pepper / onion mixture, salt, pepper, cracker meal, beaten egg and 1/3 cup ground beef broth. Mix until well mixed.


To make meat pies. Brown on both sides in a pan. (Let's use drippings in pan sauce make) Put patties in casserole. Cover with mushroom sauce. Bake 10 minutes in a 400 degree oven.  Makes 6 to 8 servings.


Drippings of beef patties


1 Cup mushrooms, trimmed, brushed, cut clean and sliced


1 Bunch spring onions, sliced cut (optional)


3 TBSP flour


1½ Cups beef stock


Half cup of water


Salt and pepper to taste


Heat drippings of beef of patties in pan. Add (vegetable oil or margarine the drippings have enough fat in the pan on a total of 3 tbsp.) Add the sliced mushrooms and saute, stirring, until soft and just beginning to Brown. Add the flour. Stir thoroughly covers you mushrooms up flour and begins to Brown.


Add slowly cold, beef broth and water, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook until the desired consistency is reached. You pour over beef patties and cook up, according to previous statements.  Makes about 2½ cups.
